About

Hello! My name is Chandan, and I'm the CTO and co-founder at Wishlink.

I come from Jaunpur, a small town in Uttar Pradesh, made famous a few years ago by the OTT Series Mirzapur. I have moved quite a lot around UP, attended 5 different schools, and one coaching centre for IIT JEE in Kota, Rajasthan.

I started Wishlink after 4 years of professional software engineering experience - a short stint at Centre for Development of Telematics, Ministry of Telecom, GOI, followed by a 3 year long stint at Goldman Sachs in Bangalore. Before this, I graduated from IIT Delhi with a B. Tech Degree in Computer Science and Engineering.

I received a lot of exposure towards startups in college. Did multiple internships in very early stage startups, and tried my hands on building a few products of my own as well. After graduation, I followed the road well travelled into getting a campus placement and then switching to my dream company, where I realised that working in a well structured and pampered environment is not something that excites me. I wanted to build things from scratch. I wanted to build things that I could call my own. Post this realisation, I quit my job at Goldman Sachs and started exploring several different ideas and building random things just for fun.

I really like building things with my own hands. I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineering before college but people convinced me otherwise (for the better). I love building software. I loved building my engineering team as well. I really love cooking, primarily Indian cuisine. And when (and if) I retire, I think I would be building something still - carpentry is something that excites me!
